Neos Dionysos und der Vater von Kleopatra VII. vollendeten die Errichtung dieses Sandsteintempels etwa 180 Jahre sp\u00e4ter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Bau des heutigen Tempels begann am 23. August 237 v. Chr. w\u00e4hrend der Herrschaft von Ptolemaios III. Euergetes. Ptolemaios XII. Neos Dionysos, bekannt als Auletes, vollendete es 57 v. Die Ptolem\u00e4er baute es an der Stelle eines fr\u00fcheren, kleineren Tempels, der ebenfalls dem Horus geweiht war. W\u00e4hrend des Neuen Reiches bauten die <a href=\"https:\/\/landioustravel.com\/de\/agypten\/pharaonen-aegypten\/\">Pharaonen<\/a> Ramses I., Seti I und <a href=\"https:\/\/landioustravel.com\/de\/agypten\/pharaonen-aegypten\/ramses-ii\/\">Ramses II.<\/a> den fr\u00fcheren Tempel. Die alten \u00c4gypter orientierten die bisherige Struktur jedoch eher in Ost-West-Richtung als in Nord-S\u00fcd-Richtung wie am heutigen Standort. Au\u00dferdem gibt es einen zerst\u00f6rten Pylon, der \u00f6stlich des heutigen Tempels liegt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Auftreten des Christentums in <a href=\"https:\/\/landioustravel.com\/de\/agypten\/\">\u00c4gypten<\/a> hatte seinen Einfluss auf die Nutzung des Horus-Tempels. Das R\u00f6mische Reich verbot 391 n. Chr. die Verehrung der alt\u00e4gyptischen G\u00f6tter. So geriet der Tempel jahrhundertelang in Vergessenheit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zweihundert Jahre lang begruben Sand, Schutt und ein Teil des Dorfes Edfu diesen Tempel. Es war eine kolossale Menge, die der Sand \u00fcber sein Dach verteilt hatte. Mitte des 19.
