Este templo fue construido por Amenhotep III (1390-52 aC) pero completado por Tutankamon (1336-27 aC) y Horemheb (1323-1295 aC). Finalmente, se agreg\u00f3 a los templos construidos durante Rams\u00e9s II (1279-13 aC). Al mismo tiempo, podemos encontrar un santuario de granito, hacia la parte trasera, que est\u00e1 dedicado a Alejandro Magno (332-305 aC).<\/p><\/amp-fit-text>\n\n\n\n<amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"14\" max-font-size=\"48\" height=\"50\"><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hasta el d\u00eda de hoy, podemos notar muy obviamente que este templo todav\u00eda est\u00e1 sirviendo como un lugar de culto. Durante la era cristiana, la sala hip\u00f3stila del templo se convirti\u00f3 en una iglesia cristiana. Los restos de otra iglesia copta se pueden ver al oeste de este templo. Durante este per\u00edodo, la puerta que conduc\u00eda al santuario de Alexander estaba cerrada y la iglesia estaba ubicada en el segundo patio abierto. Despu\u00e9s de la aparici\u00f3n del Islam como una religi\u00f3n en Egipto, el templo fue enterrado bajo las calles y casas de Luxor durante miles de a\u00f1os. M\u00e1s tarde, un Sufi Shaykh Yusuf Abu al-Hajjaj construy\u00f3 una mezquita en la parte noreste de la misma. Esta mezquita fue cuidadosamente conservada cuando el templo fue descubierto.
