Le nom \u00e9pelait aussi Amon, Amoun, Amen et parfois Imen. Cela signifie \u00abl&#8217;invisible\u00bb.<\/p><\/amp-fit-text>\n\n\n\n<amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"14\" max-font-size=\"48\" height=\"50\"><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les anciens \u00c9gyptiens d\u00e9crivaient le dieu Amon sous diff\u00e9rentes formes. Amun est apparu sous la forme d&#8217;un homme \u00e0 t\u00eate de b\u00e9lier, un homme \u00e0 t\u00eate de grenouille, un b\u00e9lier, un homme portant une couronne \u00e0 plumes d&#8217;autruche et une oie.<\/p><\/amp-fit-text>\n\n\n\n<amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"14\" max-font-size=\"48\" height=\"50\"><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il a commenc\u00e9 par \u00eatre un dieu du vent et de la fertilit\u00e9 th\u00e9bain, dont le pouvoir a grandi \u00e0 mesure que la ville de Th\u00e8bes passait d\u2019un village sans importance, situ\u00e9 dans l\u2019ancien royaume, \u00e0 une puissante m\u00e9tropole, au Moyen et au Nouvel Empire. Il s&#8217;est lev\u00e9 pour devenir un membre des huit dieux collectivement appel\u00e9s l&#8217;Ogdoad d&#8217;Hermopolis. Il est ensuite devenu membre des trois dieux appel\u00e9s la Triade de Th\u00e8bes. \u00c0 ce moment-l\u00e0, il fut nomm\u00e9 le patron des pharaons th\u00e9bains et fut finalement associ\u00e9 au dieu du soleil, Ra, qui \u00e9tait la divinit\u00e9 dominante de l&#8217;Ancien Empire, pour devenir Amun-Ra, roi des dieux et souverain du grand Ennead. Amun-Ra a \u00e9t\u00e9 salu\u00e9 comme un dieu national, le cr\u00e9ateur de l&#8217;univers, le protecteur personnel du pharaon et le dieu de la guerre.<\/p><\/amp-fit-text>\n\n\n\n<amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"14\" max-font-size=\"48\" height=\"50\"><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le temple de Karnak \u00e9tait le temple principal d\u2019Amon. La renomm\u00e9e d\u2019Amon s\u2019\u00e9tend bien au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res de l\u2019\u00c9gypte. Son culte se r\u00e9pandit en Ethiopie, en Nubie, en Libye et dans une grande partie de la Palestine. Les Grecs pensaient qu&#8217;il \u00e9tait une manifestation \u00e9gyptienne de leur dieu Zeus.
