Ze zijn verdeeld in twee afzonderlijke: Grand Giftun en Small Giftun. Het Grand Giftun-eiland heeft trouwens het op een na grootste gebied na het Shedwan-eiland.<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\">Deze twee eilanden maken deel uit van een grotere archipel, waaronder nog drie eilanden. De laatste zijn Abu Monqar Island, El Giftun El Kbeer (Grand Giftun) en El Giftun El Sagheer (Small Giftun).<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\">De Giftun-eilanden hebben zeldzame geologische composities en rotsintensiteit. Ze zijn ook beroemd om hun zeldzame koraalriffen, kleurrijke vissen en buitengewone vogels. Hamda, in de buurt van deze twee eilanden, vind je Banana Reef, Sha\u2019ab Sabrina, Erg Somaya en Sha\u2019ab Torfa die behoren tot de beroemde rifplekken in Hurghada. Bovendien is het onderwaterleven rondom deze eilanden een van de rijkste in de Rode Zee. Het heeft meer dan 196 soorten vaste koraalriffen die ongeveer 80% van de biodiversiteit van de koraalriffen in de Rode Zee vertegenwoordigen. Ook leven in deze koraalriffen meer dan 794 soorten vissen. Bijgevolg vertegenwoordigt dit aantal vissen ongeveer 65% van de biodiversiteit van vissen.<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\">Het is vermeldenswaard dat er op het eiland twee soorten vogels bestaan \u200b\u200bdie met uitsterven worden bedreigd. Deze vogels zijn de drieteenmeeuw en een specifiek soort adelaars. Een van de zeldzame schildpadden leeft ook op de stranden van dit eiland.<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Het belang van de Gifun-eilanden<\/h2><\/amp-fit-text>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\">Deze eilanden nemen een zeer onderscheiden toeristische en economische positie in. De reden is dat het Grand Giftun-eiland een van de belangrijkste duikplaatsen is in de buurt van de kustlijn van Hurghada. Veertien van de beste duikplekken bevinden zich in de buurt. Ten tweede trekt Grand Giftun Island elk jaar een groot aantal toeristen.<\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><amp-fit-text layout=\"fixed-height\" min-font-size=\"6\" max-font-size=\"72\" height=\"80\">Vanwege het belang als toeristische bestemming was het eiland uitgerust met enkele voorzieningen op drie verschillende plekken &#8211; stranden. Deze plekken zijn &#8220;Paradise Island&#8221;, &#8220;Mahmya Island&#8221; en &#8220;Orange Island&#8221;. Het is duidelijk dat de strandnamen misleidend zijn! Ze kunnen worden opgevat alsof het originele namen voor dit eiland zijn.
