Experience the magic of ancient Egypt on a full-day tour from Hurghada to Luxor. Your adventure begins with a visit to the Karnak Temple and perfume hall, followed by a delicious lunch. Afterwards, you will enjoy a boat picnic across the Nile River to reach the Wester Bank of Luxor. During this journey, you will also disembark on Banana Island.

You will then explore the western part of Luxor, where you will see the stunning temple of Amenhotep III, also known as the Colossi of Memnon. Later, you will stop at the local Alabaster factory, where you can purchase souvenirs. Afterwards, you will visit the Valley of the Queens, where you will see three tombs. Finally, you will head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

Although the Colossi of Memnon is weathered by time, the two imposing statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III still stand guard. Despite the loss, travellers can still appreciate Colossi’s grandeur. Visitors can also check out two more miniature figures of the Pharaoh’s wife and mother and the sandstone panel carvings showcasing images of the Nile god Hapy.

At the Temple of Karnak, you will witness an impressive collection of statues, columns, and the most prominent place of worship ever constructed. The temple spans more than 1,000 years, allowing visitors to appreciate this Egyptian site’s diverse art and architecture.

The Valley of the Queens, located on the West Bank of the Nile, is an ancient burial site that houses the tombs of the royal wives and children from the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.

The most famous tomb is that of Queen Nefertari, which is only occasionally open to visitors. Widely considered the finest in all of Egypt, the burial of Nefertari features colourful scenes on its chamber walls and golden stars adorning the ceiling.

The Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari rivals the Pyramids as one of the great funerary monuments of the ancient world. Built into the towering cliff face, which shelters the Valley of the Kings on the other side, it rises on three enormous terraces connected by ramps, each level marked with a colonnade of square pillars.

The excellent stone interior features well-preserved wall reliefs and hieroglyphics, some in brilliant colours, providing a welcome relief from the pitiless heat of this region.

What can you Expect to see during Excursion Luxor & Valley of Queens from Hurghada?

Monuments on the eastern bank of the River Nile

Karnak Temple

It is the largest temple complex in the ancient world. Amazingly, it represents the achievement of many generations of ancient builders and pharaohs. Its old name is Ipet-isut, meaning “the most sacred of places”.

Unceasingly, this complex temple’s building lasted over two thousand years. It comprises three principal temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples on 247 acres of land. Within the great “Hypostyle Hall” haunt an incredible forest of giant pillars.

Luxor Temple

The Temple of Luxor remained the centre of the most important festival – the festival of Opet. Amenhotep III and Ramses II founded this majestic Luxor temple dedicated to the god Amun. This festival was to reconcile the human aspect of the ruler with the divine office.

Monuments on the western bank of the River Nile

Valley of the Queens

In this Dolmen Valley, there is a preserved road along which workers of Deir el-Medina moved to the Valley of the Queens. Along this road, you will see a rocky temple built in honour of Ptah and Meritseger.

Hatshepsut Temple

At El Deir El Bahary, Hatshepsut temple is an impressive temple dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh. Impressively, it rises out in the desert with a series of terraces. It merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it. It is one of the most beautiful & best preserved of all of the temples of Ancient Egypt.

Temple of Tuthmose III

the temple construction occurred in the last decade of Thutmose III’s reign. We can guess that it was around 1435-1425 BC. Most probably, the temple saw destruction by an earthquake. It happened at the beginning of the twenty-first dynasty. Many discoveries took place eventually. One of them was the fragments of walls covered with relief decoration.

Also, Colossi of Memnon

The significant remains of a vast mortuary temple are two massive mono-stone statues of King Amenhotep III.

Another wonderful trip arranged by Landious Travel is the Valley of Queens. From there you can also go to see the Karnak Temple and the Hall of Perfume. Then the lunch will be arranged once again beside the Nile. This done, you will be part of a boat ride/picnic on the Nile to reach the western bank of Luxor. There you will get to see the temple of Amenhotep III and the Colossi of Memnon. The special attraction of this tour will be a visit to the local alabaster factory where all tourist goes to buy souvenirs. The visit to this place is nearly the same as that of The Valley of kings mentioned above. Only except for the boat ride for which you need to book earlier along with a stop at Banana Island. Both these you need to book well in advance as they remain in high demand. This trip also includes all tickets for the temples. A perfect open buffet lunch beside the Nile. A trusted guide and lastly worth mentioning will be the transfer back to and fro from the hotel. Once again, their punctuality has to be praised, and maybe Indians learn from them as well. Carry good cameras as there will always be multiple options to take pictures as well. Highly Recommended!! See you there!
