Dessa tempel finns n\u00e4ra den moderna byn Abu Simbel, vid andra Nil-katarakt. Med andra ord ligger den vid gr\u00e4nsen mellan nedre och \u00f6vre Nubia. Det finns tv\u00e5 av dem: Det stora templet tillh\u00f6r Ramses II, medan han \u00e4gnade det lilla templet till sin fru, drottning Amun-her-Khepeshef.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plats\">Plats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abu Simbel-templen \u00e4r tv\u00e5 massiva bergtempel vid den nubiska byn Abu Simbel, Aswan Governorate, Egypten. Med andra ord st\u00e5r dessa tempel p\u00e5 den v\u00e4stra stranden av sj\u00f6n Nasser, cirka 230 km sydv\u00e4st om Aswan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-historia-av-templen-i-abu-simbel\">Historia av templen i Abu Simbel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De forna egyptierna huggade ut tvillingtemplen i Abu Simbel ut ur bergssidan p\u00e5 1200-talet f.Kr. Med andra ord, de byggde den under farao Ramses IIs 19: e dynasti. Under sin regeringstid byggde Ramses II flera stora tempel i Nubia. Under det forntida Egypten kallade de det \u201dRamses-templet, \u00e4lskat av Amun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-abu-simbel-tempel-efter-500-talet-e-kr\">Abu Simbel tempel efter 500-talet e.Kr.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Efter byggandet av Aswan High Dam vid Nilen var det n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndigt att flytta templen. Annars skulle det stigande vattnet i sj\u00f6n Nasser s\u00e4nka dem ner. S\u00e5 de flyttade dessa tvillingtempel innan skapandet av sj\u00f6n Nasser &#8211; den massiva konstgjorda vattenbeh\u00e5llaren som bildades bakom den dammen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-r-ddning-av-templen\">R\u00e4ddning av templen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1959 inleddes en internationell donationskampanj f\u00f6r att r\u00e4dda Nubias monument. De sydligaste relikerna fr\u00e5n denna forntida m\u00e4nskliga civilisation hotades faktiskt av det stigande vattnet bakom Aswan High Dam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R\u00e4ddningen av Abu Simbel-templen b\u00f6rjade 1964 av ett multinationellt team av arkeologer, ingenj\u00f6rer och erfarna operat\u00f6rer av tung utrustning som arbetade tillsammans under <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/statesparties\/se\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNESCO<\/a>-flaggan. vid den tiden kostade det cirka 40 miljoner USD. Mellan 1964 och 1968 skars hela anl\u00e4ggningen f\u00f6rsiktigt i stora kvarter (upp till 30 ton, i genomsnitt 20 ton), demonterades, lyfts upp och monteras p\u00e5 nytt p\u00e5 en h\u00f6jd av 65 meter och 200 meter fr\u00e5n floden, i ett av de st\u00f6rsta problemen med arkeologisk teknik i historien. Den kollapsade kolossen i det stora templet f\u00f6ll f\u00f6rmodligen under en jordb\u00e4vning strax efter byggandet.
