Hurghada Grand Aquarium

The Hurghada Grand Aquarium exists in Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt. It houses more than 1200 animals, representing 100 species, which reside in almost a million US gallons (3,500 m3) of marine and freshwater. Also, It was one of the largest aquariums when it opened earlier in 2015.

The aquarium’s notable specimens include Sandbar shark, Tiger shark, Nurse shark, Stingrays, Shovelnose guitar shark, Eagle rays, and Blacktip shark. It also contains green sea turtles.

Three businessmen got the inspiration and goal to build an excellent aquarium for Hurghada. Accordingly, they secured the subsequent 360 million pounds expenses needed to build and stock the new facility.

The basin container contains one million US gallons (3,500 m3) of marine and freshwater.

The Ocean tank contains 475,000 gallons (1,800 m3) of water and several hundred fish from about 20 species.

It measures 1072.83 ft (327m), and the depth ranges between 16 ft and 19 ft (5.1 and 6.1 m), making it one of the most significant indoor aquatic habitats globally.

The aquarium’s founding chairpersons are primarily responsible for creating the aquarium, from the structure’s design to the procurement of animals for the exhibits.

OPENING HOURS

The aquarium is open daily, seven days a week, from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm, and the last entry is at 5:00 pm. In general, tours inside it take approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the visitor’s wish.

SHARK FEEDING SCHEDULE

Shark feeding daily schedules are 11:00- 12:00 am and 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Please, take note that the feeding schedule may change without prior notice.
