Hurghada Beaches

Hurghada is a resort town stretching 40 Km of pristine shoreline on the beautiful Red Sea coast. So, it’s rich in a lot of beaches. As for Hurghada weather, it’s warm all year. Especially during the summer, the warmest month is August. It’s sunny and warm in the winter, but it’s slightly cold at night.

Public Beaches in Hurghada

Red Sea governorate offers its residents public beaches with reasonable fees, and the entrance ticket varies from 300 L.E to 500 L.E, depending on their locations and possibilities. The price includes the umbrella and the chaise lounge.

Some beaches are clean and sandy, some are rocky and trashy, some have shallow water, some are far from the city, some are near, some are with jetty, and some are without.

On some beaches, you can bring your food and drink. Other beaches don’t permit it because they have restaurants and bars on the beaches. All beaches are open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Private Beaches in Hurghada

There are private beaches that belong exclusively to hotels and are not accessible to outsiders. There are more than 15 private beaches in Hurghada. The secluded beaches have the same rules; they open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. But the entrance ticket is a little bit expensive. It rates between 300 L.E till 500 L.E per person per day. But their locations are the best with a high quality of service. Restaurants and bars also provide them.

El Gouna, Soma Bay, Mahmya, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and Safaga are the best beaches. All these beaches are sandy and clean with clear water.

The well-known private beaches in Hurghada are Old Vic Beach, Orange Beach, Marina Beach, Roma Beach, Elysees Dream Beach Hurghada, Coral Beach, Nagwa Resort – Al Ahyiaa, The Smokery Beach of El Gouna, Zaytouna Beach of El Gouna, Il Gusto beach of Sahl Hasheesh and others are among these private beaches.

Day-use Beach Hurghada

Hotel beaches can only be used for hotel guests or for day use only by customers. Some beaches are inside resorts that permit people to use the beach and have lunch; that is called day use. These beaches are white sandy, spotless, clear water and comfortable with views of the red sea.

Free Hurghada Beaches

In Hurghada, there are no equipped free beaches available anymore since the last one closed down in 2022. Unfortunately, even locals have to pay to access the beaches, just like tourists. However, some free beaches are still available in Hurghada, but they are wild and unequipped.
