The Hurghada Aquarium is a prominent aquarium situated in the Magawish area of Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt. Established in January 2015, this renowned Aquarium boasts a tank space of nearly 3,500 cubic metres (900,000 US gallons), which houses over 1200 individual animals and 100 species. It is one of the largest aquariums on the continent, the largest in Egypt and nearly the largest in the Arab world. The facility features 24 separate exhibits, including a shark tunnel, rainforest, and a fascinating “Whale Valley” exhibit based on fossils found in the Western Desert. It also houses a Bedouin life exhibit and an animal zoo. Notable specimens include the nurse shark, stingrays, green sea turtle, shovelnose guitarfish, and eagle rays.
Hurghada Aquarium
Hurghada Aquarium is situated in El Dahar, opposite the General Hospital and adjacent to the City Beach. It boasts around 30 varying-sized aquariums, housing numerous indigenous species of the Red Sea, including three freshwater pools featuring Nile fish.
The water in the pool, glass panes, and visitor area are meticulously maintained and reflect high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, comparable to those of similar European institutions.
