The oasis is located only 350 km away from Cairo, which takes about 4 hours to cover by car. There are several hotels to choose from, each offering a unique experience.
The Black & White Desert Tour is the most popular among the many programs in the area. While many travel agencies offer this program, it is recommended to opt for a local experienced agency to get a genuine desert safari experience and learn more about the local culture. To fully experience this unique area, it is recommended to stay for several nights.
The Djara Cave Tour is the perfect program for the more adventurous traveller. This tour takes you to the most scenic places in the western desert of Egypt, including Magic Spring and Agapat Off-Road, which are ideal for stargazing and photography as they are far from any light and noise pollution. The program also includes a visit to the Black and White Desert, after which you will return to Bahariya Oasis and then to Cairo.
For those who wish to explore more than one oasis, the Siwa & Bahariya Oasis Tour is a great option.
