Next, we'll visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III that are the only remains of a complete mortuary temple. These statues were made from blocks of quartzite sandstone in Cairo and were moved 700 KM to Luxor. The two statues, known as the Colossi of Memnon, rise about 18 meters from the plain. They are the remains of what was once the largest complex on the west bank, built by Amenhotep the Third. At around noon, we'll stop for lunch in a local restaurant in Luxor and then visit the Temple of Karnak—the largest ancient religious site known anywhere in the world. Another highlight of our tour is the Queen Hatshepsut temple, rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces. The temple of Hatshepsut merges with the sheer limestone cliffs of Theban Mountain's eastern face as if nature had built this extraordinary monument. Lastly, we'll visit the Temple of Karnak Karnak Egypt 360, the largest ancient religious site known anywhere in the world. No site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man and represents the achievement of many generations of ancient builders and Pharaohs. At 17:00, we'll transfer you to your hotel in Hurghada by private air-conditioned vehicle to end your day trip from Hurghada to Luxor.
