Sphinx

Sphinx – Statue of a lion with a man’s head. The most famous statue of the Sphinx in Egypt is located at the Giza Pyramid Complex. It was created as a lion with the head of a human pharaoh. There are other Sphinxes in Egypt. Some of them have the shape of a lion with a falcon head. The most vivid example is the statue of the god Horus in the temple of Edfu. In other statues, the shape of a lion with a ram’s head – the statues of Amon in the Karnak temple.
