(1 customer review)

£270.00£450.00 "inc. Vat"

Embark on a wonderful journey filled with sightseeing activities that will take you to Aswan attractions and beyond to Nubia, where you will marvel at the temples of Abu Simbel. Your itinerary includes a visit to the High Dam, the Temple of Goddess Isis on Philae Island, the Unfinished Obelisk of Hatshepsut, and the temples of Ramses II. You’ll even get to savour a boat picnic by Felucca over the Nile River. All your meals and accommodation are included in the trip price. We offer a two-day tour to Aswan and Abu Simbel from Hurghada hotels, where you will visit Aswan Highlights, The High Dam, The Temple of Goddess Isis on Phiala island, the Unfinished Obelisk and sail on the Nile with Felucca. You will also visit Abu Simbel, Ramses, the Second most great work, and the Temple of the Queen Nefertari.

On day one, we will pick you up from your Hurghada hotel or Port Ghalib Hotels at 5:00 am sharp and start the journey to Aswan by private vehicle, which takes approximately four hours. You will visit the High Dam, Phiala temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk and enjoy sailing on the Nile with Egyptians Felucca.

The Phiala temple was built to honour the goddess Isis and is the last temple built in the classical Egyptian style. The High Dam, on the other hand, is a rock-fill dam located at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. Fed by the River Nile, the reservoir forms Lake Nasser. Construction for the project began in 1960 and was completed in 1968.

The unfinished obelisk in Aswan is the source of ancient Egypt’s finest granite used to make statues and embellish temples, pyramids, and obelisks. The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries has provided valuable insight into how these monuments were created.

You will spend the night in Aswan in Basma Hotel. You can also opt for a trip to the Nubian village, which is one of Aswan’s attractions. It’s worth visiting and spending 2 hours as it’s a very authentic and genuine place. It’s colourful and artistic, and you will straight away feel the soul of this place.

On day two, we will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan at 4:00 am and travel by air-conditioned vehicle from Aswan to Abu Simbel, which takes approximately three hours of driving before the heat of the day. The two temples were carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC.

Upon arrival, an Egyptologist guide will tell you all about one of the greatest and most whimsical pharaohs in Egyptian history. You will marvel at the main façade of the Great Temple to Ramesses II and its four statues of the pharaoh seated on his throne following his advancing age. The main temple is dedicated to Amon-Re Horakhty and Ptah, but it was constructed for the greater glory of its builder, Ramses the Great. You will continue to the smaller temple of Ramesses’ consort, Queen Nefertari, situated right next to the Great Temple. Admire the impressive rock-cut façade depicting the pharaoh and his queen. Re-board the coach at 9:00 for the return transfer to Aswan before lunch, which will be served in Aswan before your drive back to Hurghada.

Your inclusions for this trip are hotel pick-up and drop off in Aswan, an Egyptologist guide, bottled water on board vehicle during the tour, entrance fees to the mentioned sights in Aswan & Abu Simbel, transportation by private air-conditioned vehicle, lunch at a quality restaurant with tasty food in Aswan, and one-night accommodation at Basma hotel in Aswan.

  • Temples of Ramses II in Abu Simbel: The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples at the Nubian village of Abu Simbel, Aswan governorate, Egypt. In other words, these temples stand on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan. The Ancient Egyptians built these temples during the rule of Ramses II.

  • Philae Temple: This unique temple complex exists on one of the islands in the River Nile. Its original place was on Philae Island in Aswan. After building the High Dam in Aswan, there was a need to move this complex to the next island, Agilika. With the help of UNESCO, engineers rebuilt it on neighbouring Agilika Island. The Agilika island lies 12 km to the south of the High Dam.
